Laundry Instructions & Symbols Guide
Everything you need to know to keep your clothes—and especially your specialized fabrics and prints—spotless and looking great. No shrinkage, no color bleed, no drama.
Special Care: Embroidered, Transfer-Printed, Vinyled & DTF Prints
Garments with embroidery or surface prints require extra care to protect threads, vinyl layers, and DTF ink. Follow these guidelines for each type:
-
Embroidered Items:
- Hand wash in cool water with mild detergent; avoid wringing.
- If machine-washing, turn inside out and place in a mesh laundry bag. Use a 30 °C delicate cycle.
- Never use bleach. Lay flat to dry on a padded surface.
- Iron on low/medium heat on the reverse side, with a press cloth over the embroidery.
-
Transfer-Printed Items:
- Turn inside out before washing. Machine wash at 30 °C on a gentle cycle.
- Use mild, color-safe detergent; no bleach.
- Air dry flat or hang; do not tumble-dry. If you must tumble, choose “low heat” and remove promptly.
- Do not iron directly on the transfer—if needed, iron inside out on low heat, with a cloth barrier.
-
Vinyled Prints:
- Wash inside out at 30 °C gentle cycle. Avoid agitation around the vinyl area.
- No bleach. Hang to dry; heat can cause vinyl to peel or crack.
- Iron only on the fabric side, at the lowest possible temperature. Place a thin cloth over the vinyl if ironing near it.
-
DTF (Direct-to-Film) Prints:
- Machine wash inside out at 30 °C gentle. Use mild detergent; no bleach.
- Air dry or tumble on “no heat.” High heat can weaken adhesion of the DTF layer.
- Do not iron directly on printed area. If necessary, iron inside out on low heat with a cloth between iron and fabric.
Laundry Symbol Legend
Symbol | Name | Meaning |
---|---|---|
|
Machine Wash (40 °C) | Wash in a machine at 40 °C (normal cycle). Suitable for most everyday fabrics. |
|
Machine Wash (30 °C) | Wash on a gentle or delicate cycle at 30 °C. Ideal for delicate fabrics (e.g., silk, lace) or colors that tend to fade. |
|
Hand Wash | Gently wash by hand in lukewarm water. Use mild detergent and avoid wringing. Perfect for delicate knits, embroidery, or embellished items. |
|
Do Not Bleach | Avoid any bleaching agents (including oxygen or chlorine bleach). Chlorine bleach can damage embroidery threads, vinyl, and DTF prints. |
|
Tumble Dry (Low) | Tumble dry on low heat. Helps preserve shape and color, especially for cottons and synthetic blends. |
|
Do Not Tumble Dry | Lay flat or hang to dry. Essential for wool, embroidered, or printed garments that may shrink, warp, or crack under heat. |
|
Iron (Medium Heat) | Iron on medium heat (up to 150 °C). Always iron on the reverse side for prints and embroidery, or place a cloth over the design. |
|
Do Not Iron | Ironing may damage the fabric or design. Let wrinkles fall out naturally or use a steamer on low heat away from embroidery/print. |
|
Dry Clean | Professional dry cleaning recommended. Often best for structured garments, wool, or delicate embroidery where water could distort the design. |

Pro Tip: Prints and embroidery both hate friction. Wherever possible, keep them out of the dryer, turn items inside-out, and treat them like the delicate artworks they are.
